Vehicle Diagnostic Services

Diagnostic Services for Swift Current Drivers

A proper scan is more than plugging in a reader. It is a structured look at what systems are available, what faults are present, and what deeper testing may be required.

Basic Code Scan — $45

What It Includes

  • Stored and pending diagnostic trouble code retrieval
  • Basic check engine light and emissions fault review
  • Identification of the system involved, such as engine, emissions, or transmission
  • Code clearing on request
  • Brief plain-language explanation of what the code category means

Important Note

A code does not always identify the failed part. It often points to the system reporting a fault. Further diagnostic testing may be needed before replacing parts.

Full-System Vehicle Diagnostic Scan — $85

A full-system scan communicates with supported control modules in the vehicle, not just the engine computer. This is where professional-level scan capability separates itself from entry-level readers.

Systems That May Be Reviewed

  • Engine control module (ECM / PCM)
  • Transmission control module (TCM)
  • ABS and brake control systems
  • Airbag / SRS systems
  • Body control module
  • Instrument cluster and body electronics
  • Steering, suspension, and climate modules where supported

What May Be Checked

  • Active, stored, pending, and history fault codes
  • Manufacturer-specific codes not visible to generic scanners
  • Freeze-frame data showing conditions when a fault occurred
  • Basic module communication health
  • Warning light and system status information
Some older vehicles and basic trim levels have limited onboard communication. In those cases, fewer modules may be available for scanning and some electronic systems may not report detailed information.

Advanced Diagnostic Evaluation — $110

When It Is Needed

Sometimes a vehicle stores codes that are symptoms of a deeper problem. This service is for no-start issues, intermittent faults, electrical concerns, drivability problems, and cases where a code list alone does not tell the whole story.

What It May Include

  • Live data review from multiple sensors
  • Sensor value comparison against expected operating ranges
  • Bidirectional or activation tests where supported
  • Module communication fault review
  • Electrical and system behavior interpretation

Resets, Relearns, Key Fob Programming, and Pre-Purchase Scans

Service Resets — $45–$80

Oil resets, service interval resets, battery registration, electronic parking brake service mode, steering angle calibration, and other supported procedures.

Key / Fob Programming — Starting at $75

Programming of supported replacement or additional remotes and transponder keys. Vehicle platform and security access determine support.

Pre-Purchase Scan — $95

Used vehicle scan for stored faults, recently cleared codes, readiness monitor review, and general electronic condition check before buying.

Appointment-Based Model

Appointments can be handled at my Swift Current location or, when practical, at local Swift Current addresses. On-site availability depends on access, weather, and the type of diagnostic work needed. A $20 local travel fee may apply inside Swift Current.
